GPTWA Hires First Employees

The Great Plains Tribal Water Alliance is pleased to announce the hiring of its first employees!  Reinique Beck and Stefan Tangen have officially joined the GPTWA to develop and implement its resilience work supporting tribal nations in addressing issues related to climate change, water protection, and drought.

Mrs. Beck has been involved with the GPTWA since 2010 when she was a board member representing Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. For the past several years she has contracted with the GPTWA to provide administrative services, planning guidance, and technical support on tribal water projects.

Stefan Tangen has been the Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison for the GPTWA since 2018 through a grant-funded contract. He will continue his duties connecting tribal nations to climate change resources, tools, and information as a full-time employee and in coordination with the North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center.

The GPTWA will be hiring an additional full-time Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison starting this spring funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Resilience Grant Program. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding this position.
