The Great Plains Tribal Water Alliance (GPTWA) is pleased to announce it was recently awarded the Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison grant for another five years! The GPTWA was the previous host of the grant in the North Central region (MT, WY, CO, ND, SD, NE, and KS) and reapplied to continue this work to support tribal resource managers in addressing climate impacts in their jobs and at their respective tribal nations.

The grant provides funding for Climate Resilience Liaisons who work to bring resources to managers to make climate-informed decisions, pursue climate adaptation planning, provide climate training, or assist with capacity-building efforts. The grant funding will allow GPTWA to hire an Administrative Assistant and an additional regional Liaison. Stay tuned for job openings soon!

For more information on the grant read the BIA Tribal Resilience Program story here. To read more about GPTWA’s partnership with the North Central Climate Adaptation Science Center in this work click here.
