Great Plains Tribal Water Alliance
Technical Assistance Group

   The Technical Assistance Group is a committee of the GPTWA.  Committee membership consists of water managers from the nine Tribes in South Dakota.   Conference calls are held on a regular basis.

 The purpose of the committee is to advise GPTWA and Tribes on technical issues concerning Tribal waters on the reservation, including:

o   Provide technical assistance to GPTWA and Tribes

o   Collect and analyze data indicating the condition of the water resources

o   Review compliance status of all reservation waters

o   Establish a water desk for information sharing

o   Work collaboratively on water issues in common among Tribes

o   Provide education and training for GPTAG members

o   Encourage students from high school and Tribal colleges to understand water resources issues

o   Coordinate with other Federal agencies water programs


o   Seek funding to support the activities of GPTAG
